Logical Design with Molecular Components
We propose a theoretical model to realize DNA made circuits based on in-vitro algorithms, to perform arithmetic and logical operations. The physical components of the resulting Arithmetic-Logic Unit are a variety of elements such as biochemical laboratories, test tubes and human operators. The advantage of the model is the possibility to perform arithmetic operations with huge binary numbers.
متن کاملOrganic Nanofibers Embedding Stimuli-Responsive Threaded Molecular Components
While most of the studies on molecular machines have been performed in solution, interfacing these supramolecular systems with solid-state nanostructures and materials is very important in view of their utilization in sensing components working by chemical and photonic actuation. Host polymeric materials, and particularly polymer nanofibers, enable the manipulation of the functional molecules c...
متن کاملResponsive Music Interfaces for Performance
In this project we have developed reactive instruments for performance. Reactive instruments provide feedback for the performer thereby providing a more dynamic experience. This is achieved through the use of haptics and robotics. Haptics provide a feedback system to the control surface. Robotics provides a way to actuate the instruments and their control surfaces. This allows a highly coordina...
متن کاملNegotiable Interfaces for Components
Component specifications are vital for communicating a component’s requirements, as components are subject to third-party composition. Most modern programming languages lack sufficient features to express the full requirements of a component, however, much less enforce them. Preand post-conditions can capture functional aspects of a component’s requirements, but are unable to express many tempo...
متن کاملTreating Interfaces as Components
.NET provides a powerful component platform, but it does not enforce component-based programming. Considerable effort must be expended a priori in order to reap component benefits like configurability and testability. In addition, highly specialized components cannot be reused as often as necessary to provide sufficient return on investment. Thus much of the potential of components lies idle. T...
